Headaches
Headaches are of various nature and intensity. Headache should be distinguished from migraine.
Headaches can be characterized by the following symptoms: persistent pain in the head, sore muscles, neck and upper back pain, heavy head and dizziness, palpitating pain on one side of the head, warm face And red, watery eyes, nasal congestion.
Headaches usually appear due to muscular tension, poor posture, stress, anxiety, excessively long periods in front of a computer, etc… Food allergies, poor digestion, constipation, hormonal changes and the consumption of MSG (monosodium glutamate), which one often finds in canned food, chips and crackers, TV dinners and Chinese food, are also responsible for many headaches. Several diseases such as hypoglycemic attacks can bring about headaches. If a headache persists, it is recommended to have it medically diagnosed.
In order to get rid of a headache it is important to improve circulation and oxygenation to the brain. Experts estimate that, 75% of headaches are caused by tension, as well as diet which also plays a significant role. We can control these two factors by way of a healthy diet, regular physical exercise and appropriate supplementation.
Weaning of caffeine or the use of oral contraceptives (estrogens increases the demand for B6 and cause it’s deficiency) can lead to headaches. In women with premenstrual syndrome, there is often a calcium / magnesium deficiency, also present in people suffering from migraines.
